hand painted statistics

The Bay area experiences no shortage of protests. This particular one happened in 2007 at the corner of Market and New Montgomery. I was leaving school for the day and walked into it. It was a “Die In” out front of Nancy Pilosi’s office, protesting the war. It was bizarre, almost cinematic how some people walked up, locked their bikes up, and then just collapsed to the ground. Others brought blankets and neatly arranged them as not to allow themselves to lie on the dirty street.
