Late April 2009 my wife’s water broke nine weeks. Checked into the antepartum department, her doctor tried to keep our daughter in the womb for as long as possible. One week later Wren was ready to come out, and was born via c-section. After being released Kiersten was readmitted days later with a high fever due to retained placental matter. We all spent the next 7 weeks in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit). I photographed our experience using the canon G10. I felt using a small camera would be less obtrusive. In some cases it was, but due to the low light scenarios in the hospital the cameras shortfalls made themselves apparent. Near the end of our experience. I began using the Canon 5D with 50mm 1.4. The quality of images are drastically apparent at this point. Visit the link below to see the collection of images.
